Plant for Change

This is event was done for ten years and will be brought back in future years. Please check out our Spring Fundraiser for a way to contribute to the school!

Planting Day - Saturday, March 27, 2016

We are pleased to announce MBCS’s 10th annual partnership with CSUMB’s Return of the Natives Restoration Education Project (RON), The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and a NOAA Ocean Guardian Grant!

On Saturday, March 27, 2016 we will be restoring native vegetation at Fort Ord National Monument. This is a long tradition representing our school’s holistic education and environmental outreach.

RON is a community and school-based environmental education program dedicated to involving students (Kindergarten through University) in native plant and habitat restoration projects. RON activities include school-based native plant gardens, nature areas, and greenhouses, as well as, large-scale habitat restoration and native plant landscaping projects in parks and open spaces in the Monterey Bay area.

Plant for Change Goals

  • to support the community at large and local ecosystems by restoring habitat,

  • to teach our children the value of stewardship and give them hands-on experience,

  • to raise critically needed funds for our school from the community at large
